The HolyDay Club had its roots from a humble home of a homeschooling family in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Rachel Dahl, the mother of three young girls (Ramona, Acadia, and Saoirse) followed time through the seasons and holidays and centered their hearts and home in preparation for them just like our ancestors did from all over the world.
They learned how God was in the center of many of these ancient holidays and traditions, and Jesus Christ was the key to understanding and bridging the gap between Heaven and Earth.
The Dahl girls shared their life, love, and understanding of these "holy days" to their church and community with various events starting in 2020 when the whole world only saw darkness and hopelessness. They shared stories, gathered around food and fire, sang songs, and made art with friends celebrating the meaning behind each holiday.
The HolyDay Club officially started in March 2026 celebrating Purim during a time when modern day Jews, the natural branches and foundation of our faith in Christ, were celebrating the holiday in bomb shelters, instead of freely in the open air. They used this opportunity to create awareness around a tense situation to celebrate our freedoms in America and especially our freedom in Christ as it relates to the Old Testament story of Esther.
The group begins their calendar year, just like homeschooling year, in September celebrating the Jewish high holidays and incorporating Christian traditions throughout the year.
Who knew that Groundhog Day traces its roots to the German Christian festival of Candlemas, which marks the presentation of Jesus at the temple 40 days after Christmas? God is in the center of all creation and history.
Let's bring back the HOLY in holiday,
the SACRED in the secular,
and FAITH in festivals.
Let's learn about God with each celebration and Jesus Christ as our salvation!
