SUKKOT & children's business fair (SEPTEMBER)

We are hosting a children's business fair outdoors at The Fields at Renaissance Park in Essex, Maryland this Fall on Saturday September 26, 2026 from 10:30am-12:30pm. It will be the first morning of the Jewish holiday Sukkot (fall festival), so we will have that as our theme within the Christian perspective like we did in our Purim and Easter events done through The HolyDay Club.

Creation Care clean up +rosh hashanah & tashlich (sept)

Come join us with your children by the water to clean up our park! Your one small step can have a big impact on our environment. Come with water and a snack, gloves &/or grabbers, and a bag for trash!

We are accepting the challenge for Baltimore County's Clean Green 15. For 15 minutes, we will pick up litter around Cox Point Park in Essex on Thursday September 10, 2026 at 10:30AM. Together, we will see how much we pick up in a short time!

Right after our clean up, we will have a Rosh Hashana story time and tashlich and learn about the significance between this Jewish holiday as it relates to us Christians.

What is Rosh Hashanah? It is the Jewish New Year and Day of Trumpets, calls people to repentance and judgment as the shofar sounds and the Book of Life is opened—themes that point Christians to Christ’s return at the last trumpet and the assurance that those who trust in Him already have their names written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The Tashlich ritual of casting sins into flowing water (from Micah 7:19) powerfully parallels Christian baptism, in which our old self is buried with Christ and our sins are washed away forever. Together these point to the heart of the gospel: through Jesus’ finished work, God has permanently cast our sins into the depths of the sea, giving us not yearly uncertainty but eternal forgiveness and new life.

See you at the library (october)

In 2023, Kirk Cameron was denied by over 50 libraries to read his BRAVE book about the Fruit of the Spirit. Even the director of the American Library Association gave libraries tips on how to shut down these pro-God, pro-America book readings. But from these challenges, See You at the Library was born! In past years, over 10,000 people attended over 300 story hours in 46 states!

Join the national event by attending our free Story Hour at the White Marsh Branch of Baltimore County local library on October 3rd! No registration required. Just show up!

Martinmas Lantern Walk (November)

Families across the country turn their clocks back as the night grows longer in November. How can we help our children, and ourselves, embrace this natural change and bring hope and healing through God's unchanging Word?

In partnership with First Light Ministries, which aims to bring God back in the field of Astronomy, Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church hosted a lantern walk and night sky viewing designed for kids of all ages put together by Rachel Dahl of The HolyDay Club on November 8, 2020. It was a free event, open to the public held at a private farm in Bowie, Maryland.

We started with a practice in stewardship by having the children help with the garden. It was a much needed time for gathering and reflection during a time of uncertainty and hopelessness.

advent & CHRISTMAS (December)

Advent is a time to remind ourselves for the coming birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ and a season to prepare our hearts, minds, and bodies to a new beginning.

Just moments after our lantern walk during Martinmas in November, a small group of friends celebrated the last week of advent together in a private residence in Perry Hall, Maryland in December 2020. It was an intentional gathering when the whole world was forced to lock down.

PURIM (March)

Here was The HolyDay Club's first ever official event, and it was in celebration of Purim. We put on costumes, painted our faces, ate hamantaschen, and watched a movie about how God saved the Jews through Queen Esther. It was held at the Perry Hall library on March 3, 2026.

WHAT PURIM REMEMBERS: The story comes from the Bible's Book of Esther. In ancient Persia (a huge empire), a mean man named Haman tricked the king into planning to hurt all the Jewish people. He even picked a date by drawing "lots" (that's why it's called Purim — "Pur" means lots in the old language!). ✝️ HOW DO WE RESPOND AS CHRISTIANS? Recognize God’s hand in the saving of the Jewish people from destruction, the same group of people where Jesus came from. To not be arrogant against the Jews. (Romans 11:25-27)

palm sunday, HOLY WEEK (march)

Here was New Hope Baptist Church in Essex, Maryland and home church for The HolyDay Club. This video was taken during their Palm Sunday service in March 29, 2026. Pastor Derrick Hiatt and his wife Rebecca have four wonderful children, and together with family and the rest of the congregation, New Hope Baptist shines the light of Christ within Baltimore County and the rest of the world.

They are a small but powerful bunch of believers that faithfully meet every Sundays for worship at 11am and Wednesday nights at 6pm. Join them for their Good Friday night service at 6pm and Easter Sunday service at 11am during this Holy Week!

PASSOVER & RESURRECTION SUNDAY, HOLY WEEK (April)

Here were photos from our Passover/Easter Egg hunt held at Double Rock Park in Parkville, Maryland on April 1, 2026. It was a nice, sunny day for an outdoor Passover lesson, crafts, and egg hunt. We talked about how the EGG as a symbol is present in both the Seder plate and Easter representing our new life in Christ.

This event was hosted by The HolyDay Club alongside Baltimore County Christian Homeschoolers.

earth day (April)

What are some ways Christians can Celebrate Earth Day on April 22? 🌍✨

1. Stewardship - “God called us to care for His creation” (Genesis 2:15)
2. Praise - “The heavens declare the glory of God” (Psalm 19:1)
3. Gratitude “Give thanks for the beauty of the Earth”
4. Action- Reduce, reuse, recycle, and restore (and clean up!) as an act of worship
5. Community Celebrate together and share God’s love for the world

Let’s honor God by caring for the beautiful world He entrusted to us. 💚
